Kama and Karma
Indra’s world is full of colours and Indrani’s world obviously colourful, by extension and being the feminine of Indra, the mother of all colours. If you see what is there in the name, then Indrani is the creator of Maya (Indra) and a queen (rani) in herself.. Names carry half the story of your life and the remaining is spoken through your face that speaks of your individual karmic journey across births. Rishis of yore gave their disciples meaningful names that had a certain silent communion with the Almighty and took them away from their lower karmas.
In reality, the human birth is a fruit of your own karmas or rnanubandha that make you live oblivious to your connection with the Absolute Divine entity and you carry on existing under names and genders, completely unaware that you are in the body of a man or woman but internally complete. The duality of masculinity and femininity blind you so much that you cannot ignore or go beyond being bodies or flesh. And once you limit yourself to being just a body, you need nurturing, care, and the desire of being loved. More often than not, such desires are not fulfilled in today’s chaotic living, which results in dissatisfaction, feeling of being incomplete and then comes a never-ending quest of seeking enjoyment where satisfaction lasts for a limited period and again you seek change. And in every change, it is the karmic connection from a previous birth that relates you and attracts you to a few others who may not necessarily become your spouse and the result will be incest or adultery.
When you should actually see all men or women as your parents and a part of divinity so that you do not step into infidelity, where do you go where parental love itself is replaced with incest? If a relation has exploited your body, your mind will be broken and smashed to the core of your ignorance and you will reach a point where you will not remain faithful to anyone or be able to relate mentally at all. A day however will come, when you will get tired of your own past and actions and the mirror of the past will hurt you so much that you will go all out to destroy that mirror. Murdering people or killing a physical body is not the answer to that dreaded past for what you will do now will also become a gory past the next moment. The way out is to simply step out of the past with acceptance and purity that comes from within you.
The heart is the centre of your being and is certainly supposed to ground your being and emotions but where the heart is full of pain and hurt how do you respect and love yourself? And then you let yourself be governed by whatever gives you power and solace, and creates the illusion of going beyond time and space that are spent by you as per your karmas. If you understood relative time and space, you would know how to change your life and existence by changing your mind and by accepting the misery of your own karmic cycle.
Human birth requires acceptance of death and grief, of pain and fall. If you gracefully accept the evil along with good and repair the holes in your life with knowledge and karma yoga, you move beyond fear and suffering. It is only when you find refuge in masks and personalities and hide from your own truth that you tend to go in the wrong direction. Go with the flow of nature that shows both darkness and light, that creates both pleasure and pain but is itself only in karma. When you drown yourself only in pleasure or in pain, you get deeper into the clutches of maya and create even stronger karma which pulls you further into similar karmic cycles. In such circumstances, the soul is bound, the heart is obstructed and the senses and the mind are at a bigger play.
Cases like Indrani Mukherjea’s, Arushi Talwar’s, Sunanda Pushkar’s are testimony to the fact that divided and split minds are becoming common cases in today’s polluted society, where the dirt has entered from the physical world to emotional and psychological worlds of human existence. Amidst the imbalance surrounding you, the ground beneath you is also shaking. You are angry and hurt and you too want to retaliate or hurt someone else and slowly you start living externally and lose the connection with your inner self. The same energy that was filled with awareness is now turning into that of ignorance and you simply become a desire driven machinery of sorts, one that keeps churning egos and deceptive appearances. The impotent thoughts in the mind take the form of the energy you are nurturing within and become your reality which is far distant from the Supreme reality.
Understand from such cases prevailing in today’s society that the law of karma is strong and it demands control of mind and body, a balance of matter and spirit, the perfect combination of ling and yoni. The moment the balance is lost, the mentalras-lila begins and that in Kaliyuga is gruesome. You need to guard your mental eroticism before the physical one or the shackles of kama will keep you working overtime in the wheel of desire and sin. Live life king or queen size but let life never catch you unaware. Awareness is the key word to living a fulfilling life where you know your true inner self and not the false personality created by your ego. Action in awareness is the way to a greater consciousness where whatever you do is right and shreshtha (noble) and it is the highest and noblest pursuit that remains in harmony with nature even with changing times. Choose the path of watchfulness that is sure to bring you inner joy and bliss.
